The Singapore Tao Society held the Mid-year Review, following the easement of COVID-19 restrictions after more than 2 years. The event took place in 3 regions, the East, West and Batam regions separately. On the morning of 17 July 2022, the Tao Transmitting Masters, Lecturers and Temple Hosts of the West region attended the event, consisting of 219 people. Later in the afternoon, the East region hosted 170 Tao members. The Batam region held their review on 24 July 2022 where a total of 120 people attended.
Tao members arrived on the day, brimming with energy to welcome the upcoming day. After the pre-lesson sing-along, Tao Transmitting Masters highlighted the importance of a Mid-year Review, which is an annual event in Chong De Tao Society. This review serves as a chance to reflect on the progress of the Tao affairs and curriculum planning for the first half of the year, focusing on the operation structure and going beyond the review of mere statistics.
Following that, Tao Transmitting Masters encouraged the team by sharing the words of wisdom of Ji Gong Living Buddha from the oracle, “先天人才”. The difference between talents and divine talents is that the latter holds the holy responsibilities to achieve their holy mission. We come to this world because we cannot bear to witness the sufferings of sentient beings. We want to lend a helping hand because we cannot bear to watch sentient beings drown in deep waters. We come to this place because we know that the Tao society is a place to nurture us and to follow the footsteps of Buddha, Saints and Sages. We cannot be the lost sheep any further! We need to perform our duties in the Three Realms to complete the holy mission we set out to achieve.
The second lesson was a sharing by Tao Transmitting Masters on “伏魔真经序” written by our Teacher. The oracle was created to defuse the catastrophe that ensues, wishing that we, the disciples, will not only receive enlightenment from the scriptures but also act upon the teachings and essence of it.
The review covered the reports on Tao affairs, curriculum planning, the Students Section, Junior Section and Classics Education Section. We have completed our work for the first half of the year and are working towards achieving better results in the next half. Following the operation structure and working continuously together to co-exist with the pandemic, we should seize the opportunity to exceed expectations and achieve greater heights!
