Thank you for the Grace of Heaven, Enlightened Masters’ virtues, Bai-Shui Sheng-Di’s and Bu-Xiu-Xi Bodhisattva’s steadfast spirits, and the temple hosts’ united efforts, Rui-De Temple was finally established on 03 January 2021 after two years of preparation. The COVID-19 pandemic and the authorities’ strict safety measures did not affect the unwavering faith and commitment of the Chong-De family in setting up temples. The twelve temple hosts are extremely grateful for Mr. Lam Yon Heng and family’s generosity in offering a wonderful place to house the temple. We are also appreciative of the selfless contribution and care from fellow Tao seniors of the Collegiate Section. Tao seniors and juniors support each other throughout the cultivation journey, actualizing this dharma boat with their compassionate vows, which consolidated the power of cultivation and propagation for a bright prospect.
Rui-De Temple setup was postponed twice due to COVID-19. Perhaps Heaven is fulfilling the wishes of man, for Singapore’s COVID-19 situation was fortunately well under control. On 28 Dec 2020, the government moved from Phase 2 to Phase 3 earlier than expected, which allowed group size to increase from five to eight persons. Hence, three days into the new year, with support from fellow Tao seniors, we marked Rui-De Temple’s inauguration with a solemn Establishment Ceremony. Due to size limitation (at most 8 persons per gathering), the ceremony was conducted in two separate sessions for the twelve temple hosts. Thereafter, all the temple hosts adjourned to Chong-Hui Grand Temple and joined other temple representatives from the Collegiate Section to perform a Thanksgiving Ceremony.
Rui-De is a Collegiate Section affiliated temple. The Singapore Tao Society appointed Tao Transmitting Master Zhan Shi-Hu to inaugurate the temple setup, so that everyone may together witness another milestone of the Collegiate Section. As one of the Tao Transmitting Masters steering Collegiate Section’s Tao affairs and well-being, he reminded every temple host to be grateful for every blessing, to be mindful of Bu-Xiu-Xi Bodhisattva’s mercy and hope, and to be thankful for all the Tao Transmitting Masters, lecturers, Tao seniors, and peer cultivators who have showered the Collegiate Section with great care and support. He also encouraged everyone to constantly keep sentient beings in our thoughts, enlighten the self and others, and create heaven on Earth.
At Chong-Hui Grand Temple, Tao Transmitting Master Hong Ya-Huan led the Collegiate Section in the Invocation Ceremony and Thanksgiving Ceremony. She encouraged everyone to model after the steadfast spirits of Bai-Shui Sheng-Di and Bu-Xiu-Xi Bodhisattva, be brave in shouldering holy responsibilities, reverberate The Holy Summons to cease all catastrophes, and accumulate merits. The voyage of the holy Rui-De sail had commenced, signifying a new journey for holy cultivation and propagation. On this sacred long journey, we will advance in unity and brave the odds to save more people and lead them to Heaven, in order to repay a sliver of our gratitude to Heaven.
